Think of your logo like the face of your business or entity. It does not necessarily have to be a visual representation of what your company does, just like your face doesn’t give much away about what you do for a living. A good logo should be simple, scalable, memorable or impactful, versatile and relevant. It is often said that customers form an opinion about a company within seconds. A well-designed logo is an easy way to convey to potential customers that your business is professional, trustworthy, and provides quality goods or services. If your logo is unprofessional, generic or just plain crap, this reflects on you and your business.
BRANDING & VISUAL IDENTITY
If the logo is the face of your business then the brand is the personality of your business; the voice, the values, the style. While a logo is only a small simple mark, a brand includes every single touch-point your customers have with your company. In short, your brand is the way your customer perceives you. Having a strong, engaging, consistent brand works to build customer recognition and loyalty. As a designer I cannot provide all elements of your branding strategy, as some are intangible, some are directly linked to you. What I can create for you is a ‘visual identity’ (ick, wanky designer term) complete with a guide for your internal team or other third parties to follow, as consistency is key to successful branding.
While websites are an important part of the sales funnel for most businesses, some people still require various pieces of print marketing material. This is my strongest area of design, so let me know if you need brochures, business cards, proposal documents, report documents, posters or flyers to advertise and event, product or service. Because today’s’ marketing has had such a significant shift into the digital realm, a hard copy brochure or flyer can have more of an impact. There is something about being able to hold it in your hands, feel the weight of the paper, the texture of the print, it’s a tactile experience the customer doesn’t get from your website.
Outside of business specific requirements I can assist with custom wedding or other event invitation sets and stationery. Don’t download something generic off the internet, let’s make something together that really suits your couple style (and budget…) while making your guests feel very special.
During my four years at art school, I developed my own style of illustration, through my exploration the female form in fashion magazines. I employ mainly manual collage methods, as well as water colour and indian ink wet media illustration. The magazine collage during my studies was about the exploration of ‘the cut’ in fashion and in collage itself. My final fourth year thesis was based in the examination of fear and desire in fashion. Check out my instagram for more of my illustration work.
SIGNAGE & DISPLAYS
Signage can be an essential component of a business’s overall marketing strategy. A sign that contains the company’s logo can help reinforce its brand. Signs are also used to draw attention to promotions and to convey information about the business, even if that information is simply, “we are here!”. Because an exterior sign is visible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, its exposure is prominent and continuous. Talk to me today about designing the artwork for building signage, shopfront or portable stall signage, street signage, flags and banners, as well as billboards and vehicle wraps. I can also assist with POS displays, product displays and exhibition stand styling.
